720Degree Innovation Hub, a leading Technology and Innovation centre in Nigeria, today announces the appointment of Professor (Mrs.) Bukola Onashoga, FNCS as the Chairman, Board of Trustees.
Adebukola Onashoga, a distinguished Computer Science and Information Security Professional, brings over 20 years of Computer and Technology experience. She is a Professor of Computer Science & Information Security at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, served as the first female Head of Department of Computer Science in the University. As an erudite scholar and indefatigable administrator, she has distinguished herself with vast and outstanding achievements. She was a visiting scholar to Marquette University and University of Wisconsin (UWM), Milwaukee, WI from 2012 to 2015 and recently allied with some faculty members of Abertay University, Dundee, Scotland. She is also a Principal and co-Investigator in some Project Grants’ Awards. She is presently a member of the coaching committee for the African Research Initiative for Scientific Excellence (ARISE). She is the Leading member of a research group on Information Security and Innovative Systems in her University. She is also an active member of the Community of Interest on some innovations by NCCoE, USA.
Prof. Onashoga is on the list of Mentors of Women Security Alliance (WomSA), an international organization dedicated to the success of women in cybersecurity. She was bestowed the 2017 IT Woman of the year by Nigeria Women in IT and the 2020 finalist of the UK Technology PlayMaker Award (Academic Category). She is presently a council member of CPN and NCS serving in the capacity of the Southwest Coordinator.
Other members of the Board are Pastor Sijuwade Otegbeye, a renowned Strategic Management Expert, Professor Adetunji Balogun, A Nanotechnology Expert, and Professor of Material Science and Engineering at Hunan University, China. Also on the Board are Mr. Adedayo Ogundeyi who represents the Management at the Board and Mr. Adeyemi Ogundeyi serving as the Secretary to the Board.
This appointment takes effect immediately and it does not in any way affect her role in her place of employment.
